Dear Parents & Community Members,
My name is Tynga Coleman and I am overjoyed to be the new principal of Carroll Smith Elementary. I would like to welcome you to our campus that is on the “Move Toward Excellence”. Our journey toward excellence includes our educators working together and learning from each other to set the path to improving our teaching practices to help better serve our students.
One of our school district’s goals is to function as a Professional Learning Community (PLC) where educators work collaboratively to share instructional strategies, hold each other accountable, and use data to increase student achievement. The very purpose of a PLC is to ensure ALL students learn at high levels and the very reason why our educators collaborate to achieve this outcome.
At Carroll Smith, our teachers have come together and compiled a set of collective commitments on how we will achieve our vision of ALL students at Carroll Smith Elementary being provided with high levels of educational opportunities that will allow success at all levels. In order for us to achieve the excellence that we seek, we have to put in the work and in order for our students to receive the best learning experience, our staff has to be nothing less than excellent. Therefore, in alignment with one of the district’s core beliefs, you can trust that we will commit to what we signed up for and that is providing our students with effective administrators and teachers every day.
